The CZECH-AMERICAN HORN DUO (Steven Gross and Jirí Havlík of the Czech
Philharmonic) made its first appearance on the West Coast in April. At
UCSB the Duo played, followed by Jirí leading a masterclass, lecturing
about the Czech Philharmonic, and conducting a mass horn ensemble.

Jarrett Webb performed the second of his two Master's recitals. His repertoire featured worthwhile but lesser known works. The opening concerto by Othmar Schoeck was followed by a 20th century unaccompanied tour de force by P Kavanaugh.
